The extra storage version in India one of my favorite things about the F9 is its eye catching design ours is in the Twilight blue color of gorgeous gradient from light to dark there’s texture underneath as well in a cool diamond pattern there’s no official word on what the back is actually made of though I took some keys to it and they did make a mark so the material seems to be some sort of plastic or polycarbonate going beyond the cosmetics

there is no water protection on this phone so you have to be a little careful also on the back is a rear-mounted fingerprint reader which is quite fast and accurate there’s face unlock to though it operates using the front cam not a fancy infrared setup which raises some security concerns audio comes through the single bottom firing speaker it tests out really well loudness is excellent and sound quality is great even at max volume alternatively

you can plug in headphones with a 3.5 millimeter Jack stereo separation isn’t the best but it’s still fine there’s support for FM radio too you get a micro SD card slot to expand the storage on the OPPO F9 beyond the default 32 or 64 GB but I do wish OPPO would make the switch to USB C ports on all of its devices here you’re still connecting through a date of micro USB port at the bottom the screen is a tall 6.3 inch IPS LCD with a 1080p resolution

there’s great contrast and blacks are pretty deep for an LCD brightness is good too at a maximum of 513 its sunlight legibility is solid too up at the top is a round notch which houses the selfie camera and the earpiece Opel calls the shape a water drop and it sort of reminds me of the bottom of a swimsuit there’s no option to hide it with a black bar but it’s small enough that it shouldn’t cause problems for most people under the hood is a mediatek helio p60 chipset

Specifications of the OPPO F9

it’s a respectable mid-range chip and along with 6 GB of ram it does well in benchmarks and in daily operations the OPPO F9 has a 3500 mAh battery in battery life is excellent scored an endurance rating of 94 hours in our tests beating many flagships on top of that the battery is super fast to charge thanks to the bundled 20 watt bulk flash charger we were able to get from 0 to 56% in half an hour

the OPPO F9s user interfaces color OS 5.2 / Android 8.1 or a pretty far from stock Android you can either use the standard navigation keys or up to navigate using gestures there’s no app drawer here all of the apps are on the home screen swiping left opens up customisable panels a display information like weather and appointments and a new useful feature in version 5.2 is the smart bar which you can access while playing a game or watching a video

it gives a bunch of shortcuts so you can manage things without having to go back to the home screen the OPPO F9 has a dual camera set up the main cam is 16 megapixels and F1.8 with phase detection autofocus the secondary cam is just a depth sensor in daylight photos come out nice with a decent amount of detail and true-to-life colors sharpness is good without over sharpening and dynamic range is about average

Camera Features of the OPPO F9

there is a 2 times zoom but is purely digital low-light photos are nothing special although there is a bright lens there’s no OAS and shots come out soft the noise reduction takes its toll on the level of detail to portrait mode makes use of the secondary depth sensor to create a deep focus background behind the subject the edge detection is pretty accurate even around messy hair like mine the OPPO F9 is front facing cameras 25 megapixels and F 2.0 and selfies are excellent

there’s a lot of detail good dynamic range and natural colors there’s a selfie portrait mode — which looks decent subject separation isn’t quite as accurate as on the main camera the F9s video recording isn’t too impressive you can only record in 1080p 1080p videos are rather low in detail and have below average dynamic range they do have electronic stabilization though which is always on to smooth out your videos

so the OPPO F9 overall it’s a solid mid-range phone with a beautiful design nice LCD screen great selfies and good battery life all for around (Rs.23.388) of course there are quite a few other options in this price range there’s the elephant in the room which is the flagship grade poco phone f1 and there’s also the new vivo v11 which rings an AMOLED screen and an under display fingerprint reader but if you aren’t a power user and just want a well rounded good-looking phone with a traditional fingerprint scanner the OPPO F9 is worth looking into and it deserves our recommendation.
